Delavelle® is the brand of furniture made in France of Atelier Hugo Delavelle, a cabinetmaker specialized since 2009 in the design and manufacture of furniture and solid wood objects such as our tables, chairs, stools, benches, armchairs or coffee tables. Our workshop is located in Saulnot (70), in the east of France and all our activities are gathered there: design, research department, manufacturing, administrative and commercial management, storage and logistics. Our company has been awarded the EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) label by the French government to distinguish French companies with excellent craftsmanship and industrial know-how. We offer these furniture products for the home but also for professionals who wish to furnish cafes, hotels, restaurants, or businesses.
An exclusive design, an ecological conception and an exceptional quality of manufacturing and finishing are part of the DNA of the brand. Our furniture is eco-designed, made with noble materials and presents a pure, timeless and functional design. We perpetuate the know-how of the art of cabinet making and our creations feature traditional assemblies such as mortise and tenon and dovetail joints, as well as meticulous manual finishing. They are handcrafted in our workshop by our cabinetmakers, which means that each piece of furniture, whether it is a single piece or mass-produced, is made from A to Z by the same craftsman(s). From the cutting of the wood to the finishing, through all the steps of the manufacturing of the furniture, the cabinetmaker brings his know-how and operates a permanent quality control to guarantee you furniture of the best quality. Prior to this manufacturing process, the greatest care is taken with the design, which is carried out internally or entrusted to an independent designer. The know-how of cabinet making associated with design gives birth to an authentic and resolutely contemporary style.
The solid wood used in Delavelle® furniture is the material used by cabinetmakers par excellence for the manufacture of furniture since antiquity, but over time it has been replaced by panels made of wood particles and glues, which are certainly more economical but polluting, often harmful and rarely durable. We have chosen natural solid wood for the manufacture of our furniture because it is a noble, natural, healthy, sustainable and renewable material. Our workshop is PEFC certified and we work with French wood that comes from French forests, mainly regional and all managed sustainably.
Design is not a style, it is a process of creation that is used in industry, crafts, graphics, fashion or architecture. It allows the designer to create by considering the aesthetic aspect as a criterion of value for the object of the creation, in the same way as other criteria such as ergonomics, manufacturing costs, environmental impact and many other aspects. At Delavelle, the design is done in-house or entrusted to independent designers. It takes into account as many criteria as possible, but is strongly influenced by the desire to reduce the environmental impact of our furniture as much as possible, while manufacturing it in a traditional manner in France. These choices give birth to sustainable collections, with little impact on the environment, uncluttered, without frills, with a high quality of manufacture, manufactured with natural materials of first quality.
